My favorite thing about doing brows is how the right shape can be transformative for the client. Shaping will accentuate certain parts of the’s face and a skilled artist will shape strategically in order to create a flattering affect. Some shapes will add roundness to the features, some will make the features more angular. How close the brows are together can make the forehead appear larger or smaller, the eyes closer together or farther apart. Length of the brow can provide facial balancing or it can overpower the client’s features. These choices are not just a matter of measuring and mapping, they are choices and they are critical to the outcome. It is also important to me to be conservative with shaping at a first session. I can always go longer or thicker at the second session if we decide that is what’s right for the client. But once it’s done it can’t be undone!
