From seeking models to seeking #rolemodels… Yesterday I was invited to meet the Top45 contestants of next year‘s @missgermany_official competition at the @sohohouse in #Berlin, representing both @bbdo_germany and @peopleofdeutschland. I was asked to talk about my personal story, leadership and how to leverage the power of diversity. In case you are not aware yet. The Miss Germany competition that exists since 1927 has been completely reinvented and is not a classic beauty contest anymore. Since 2022 Miss Germany is looking for women who lead, who take over responsibility and who have become role models for all of us through the work they do and the personality they have. A concept that was long overdue and is perfectly brought to live and pioneered in Germany by the entire team at Miss Germany Studios. It’s been a real pleasure to meet this very impressive and diverse group of leaders who are pitching this weekend for a spot amongst the top 25 contestants entering the next round of this remarkable competition. The competition has been split up into three categories: Founder, Mover and Leader to cover the full spectrum from start-up founders, social entrepreneurship to leaders in the established business and corporate world who want to drive change. Turning the most famous German beauty contest into a female empowerment platform is a genius move and an important signal to the younger generation that change is needed across all fields of activity. The purpose of our collaboration is for us to help diversify the pool of candidates who enter the competition by raising awareness for the new concept, especially in the #BIPoC and #Migra-Community. The current Miss Germany @api_schoenauer is the perfect inspiration and motivation for young women who are interested in competing and leveraging their own ideas and success in order to make a difference in society.
