Thrilled to reflect on one of the most rewarding moments in my career—nurturing incredible talents and witnessing their remarkable growth. Image above of @_iam.novi.brown_ captured at the @sohohouse where @boymeetsgirlusa designed the uniforms. “On the heels of my success with the Cooper Square Hotel, I was approached by Soho House—a private members’ club with locations all over the world—to design uniforms for the staff at their New York location. I was excited because I knew that the extra exposure would really elevate my brand. I also felt it was a great way to learn a new market and attract more buyers. On top of dressing the employees, I did an interview series and photographed a few of the staff members as a means of better understanding who they were. It was important for me to be able to tell their stories through the designs that we had been doing since inception. One of the women I spoke to was the up-and-coming actress Ashley Brown, who was waiting tables at Soho House while auditioning on her off days. Now, Ashley is known as Novi Brown, the star of Tyler Perry’s Sistas on BET.” Check out slide 2 to see what Novi answered when I asked her where do you see yourself in 5 years!
