An ode to Dior - past, present, and future. Back in my former life as a fashion journalist and editor, I had the pleasure of covering the Christian Dior exhibition at the V&A for Vogue India. I interviewed Maria Grazia Chiuri, who is no longer at the helm, with her departure marking the end of a chapter. And what a beginning: Jonathan Anderson has just been announced as the new Creative Director of Dior for men’s, women’s, and couture. The first to do so since Monsieur Dior himself. Monumental. My love for Dior started not as an editor, but as a customer, a very young one and in fact long before the invites or the backstage access. And it continues today, reshaped through the lens of someone who now works behind the scenes as a Producer. I now find myself constantly wondering: What were they listening to while creating? What was the texture of their world? Christian Dior was deeply inspired by Monet, with a whole section of the V&A exhibition dedicated to that, and both, in their own studios, would have likely been listening to Debussy while shaping beauty into form. It all comes back to feeling. Elegance. And the timeless urge to make something meaningful. And makes me want to write again… 💫 #Dior #JonathanAnderson #FashionHistory #DiorHeritage #VogueIndia #CreativeDirector #Monet #Debussy #MariaGraziaChiuri #JohnGalliano #DiorExhibition #VA #FashionArchive
