Last night was one of those nights that stays with you ✨ I had the honour of witnessing @remeebailey CityTropics exhibition and a short documentary at @sohohouse — a deeply layered body of work born from his life in the Caribbean. Every piece holds weight. Every colour, every texture, every symbol tells a story of identity, migration, community, and survival. Remee’s words resonated deeply. He said: if you don’t tell your story, someone else will — and they’ll tell it their way - which is also a true reflection of our “history” and how it’s been fed to us. Remee reminded us that when you create — through art, words, music, movement, or energy — it becomes your legacy. It lives on long after you, carrying your truth, your essence, your memory. And without that, the world will have no recollection of you. His art is a mirror for all of us to express ourselves unapologetically, to reclaim our narratives, and to be remembered for our truth, not someone else’s version of it. As I share these moments — surrounded by his work, his words, and my beautiful friends — my heart also goes out to Jamaica 🇯🇲 To everyone affected by the storm, I’m sending love, strength, and healing energy. Art like this reminds us: life is fleeting, but what we create — and how we love — lives forever. 💫
