It was such an pleasure to celebrate the @theststyle 2025 Beauty Awards. The event was hosted by the dynamic beauty duo @sarahjossel and #indiaknight who both bring so much expertise and joy to the beauty world. Elizabeth Hurley was awarded the Impact Icon of the year for her decades of dedicated ambassadorial work for the @esteelauderuk #breastcancerawareness campaigns. It was very moving to hear about the evolution of breast cancer including awareness of it in recent years. Breast cancer affects at least 1 in 7 women in the UK; we will all have a friend or family member affected at some in our lives. Early detection and treatment can help reduce the devastating impact cancer can have. Back to beauty, as a dermatologist, consumer selected beauty awards gives me valuable insights into what products and ingredients are resonating with people in their day to day lives. It helps me understand trends and brands that may not necessarily have the clinical trials to support their popularity. There is a really important intersection between Dermatology and Beauty and I am continuously inspired and intrigued this overlap: does a trending ingredient live up to the hype clinically? What makes a brand trusted to a consumer? What makes us choose one skincare product over another even if the price point and formula appear the same? Awards help spotlight these questions.
