Inspiring evening with Moon Unit Zappa (hello MTV 80s) interviewed by thoughtful author actor Malibu local Robert Kerbeck. Who knew Moon Unit was a major connector in her wild house, and was responsible for Ione Sky getting the role in Say Anything? Along with many others jobs and roles… At a young age she lived out of a hotel in NYC and ended up on MTV with her brother Dweezil as a frequent guest VJ. She’s responsible for writing the lyrics to her dad’s famous song Valley Girl using valley speak~ The 1982 single became Frank Zappa’s only Top 40 hit in the US and helped to popularize phrases like “gag me with a spoon” and “grody to the max”. It sounded like the process of writing this book was also healing. Congrats 🎉 on being brave enough to share your story.
