✨🍵 𝐀𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐚 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐡𝐨 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧 🍵✨ My second tea tasting at Soho House & Co Berlin was once again fully booked, and the dignified setting made for the perfect backdrop to a morning of flavour and discovery. We began with 𝐘𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐨 — 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚 𝐛𝐮𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐞, 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐩. It was a unanimous favourite, with every single guest noting its gentle sweetness and floral lift. Next came an 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐚, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. This was followed by 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐮𝐧 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐞𝐚, 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭, 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚 proved to be a recurring topic of curiosity, sparking detailed questions and lively discussion. Surprisingly, 𝐇ō𝐣𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚, with its toasty, comforting profile, is still largely unknown and so the group could be inspired to give this great alternative to Matcha a try in the future. It’s always a joy to see how different teas inspire different reactions — questions, smiles, memories — and to watch a room of strangers become a room of tea companions. A heartfelt thank you to: 🤝 Sharon Sberro from Soho House & Co - for flawless organisation and planning. 📸 Alejandro from Babbel - for helping on all fronts and capturing the day in beautiful photos and videos. 🥂 Jennifer from The Mindful Drinking Club - for bringing premium non-alcoholic spirits to pair with our teas. 👏 Erika Eklundh from Gnista Spirits - for advancing the world of non-alcoholic drink creations and sharing them with me to experiment.
