a massive thank yoUU to all who came to the screening this past week in nashville. cannot wait for this thing to see the light of day in a mere... TEN DAYS? doesn't feel real. many thoughts from/about the making of this thing. many things i'd do differently next time. many people i wish to thank and many things that didn't make the final cut of the film i wish to share. but i'll save it all till y'all get a chance to see this thing in its entirety. the biggest honor of all that i just want to share my joy in for a second is that i sent dan's family a screener link to watch it before anyone else got to. they said despite their deeply fucked up and insane history with dan, they were floored by the amount of time, effort, and humanity that was put into ensuring his story was told diligently and compassionately to all involved while maintaining a tightrope balance between presenting his story in an interesting light and sensationalizing his already sensationalized disappearance. i am deeply grateful. whatever anyone thinks of this thing, i did what i set out to do! and i think that's worth celebrating. LOVE. vv,uu
